Clearer skies today!

We awoke to fairly clear skies this morning so unless something dramatic happens, I think we are in the clear - praise the Lord!

There is still a haze of smoke north of us from the Poomacha/Witch fire and the city still has a very light haze of smoke. The air quality is definitely better but you can still smell the smoke. We headed out for a much needed break, caught some lunch and got some things mailed at the post office. It’s pretty apparent that people have ventured out to try and return their lives to some semblance of normalcy which I think is good.

Thank you to all who have kept us in your prayers – it truly touches our hearts to know we are thought of and prayed for during this stressful and scary time. Please continue to pray for the firefighters and personnel working to get these massive fires under control. In addition, pray for the communities throughout our county and state that have been affected by these fires. There are so many that have lost their homes and more – may the Lord pour his grace out upon them.

On a side note, one thing I’ve learned from this is that Megan is more sensitive to the Santa Ana winds than we are. She had gotten a nosebleed that first night and so on the suggestion from my mom I put some Aquaphor ointment on a Qtip and swabbed the inside of her nose to help with the dryness. Between that, using a vaporizer to get some moisture into the air and having the air conditioning on definitely made a difference.
