We are so overjoyed to announce that we received our referral call today and It’s a girl!
Here are some of the details we know about Megan from today’s call. We will be receiving our picture of her tomorrow – so keep an eye out for another email with her picture in it!
CHINESE GIVEN NAME: Qiu YangYao (pronounced Chew YoungYow - yow is like cow)
SOON TO BE: Megan (still TBD) Payne
DOB: March 12, 2005
PROVINCE: Guangdong
SWI (orphanage): Yangxi SWI
AGE AT REFERRAL: 6 months, 22 days old
WEIGHT AS OF 8/12/05 (5 MONTHS): 15 pounds (6.8 kg)
HEIGHT AS OF 8/12/05 (5 MONTHS): 24.8 inches (63 cm)
DATE OF REFERRAL CALL: 10/4/2005
TIME OF REFERRAL CALL: 1:15 p.m.
PROUD PARENTS: Alan and Mandy Payne
Megan’s medical report as of 8/12/05 has all her tests coming back as normal. The report also listed some of the following about Megan: deep sleeper (yeah!!), rolls over by herself, can hold her head up while on her tummy, able to locate directional sounds, laughs, smiles, knows her name, very close to her caretakers and is restless/active.
We don’t have firm details on our travel dates yet but when that gets determined, we will be sure to let you all know.
Thank you all for being a part of our journey to parenthood. We are thrilled beyond words to share this excitement with you. We continue to ask for your prayers as we prepare for our trip to China to go get this precious little bundle. We also ask for your prayers for little Megan during her last few weeks in China – specifically that our Lord will prepare her for the changes to come.

she sounds like an absolute sweetie!! what a miracle! i think you will be so wonderfully surprised at how fast she will bond to you. oh, how i wish i were going to china with you!!!!!!
Praise the Lord! God is so good! Where were you on March 12th when she was born? I am crying tears of joy for you, Mandy. You and Alan will be awesome parents. It has been a priviledge serving along side of you in BOWS.
