So what’s up with Megan you ask?

The last few weeks have been very busy with our little home business as well as the 3 of us getting sick – so we are sorry for such a lack in blog posts and pictures.

Okay so here are some of Megan’s recent accomplishments (in no particular order):

• She can climb up the first of two steps of the landing at the bottom of our staircase and actually get herself back off again all by herself and in a safe way! We’re not about to let her go for it on the big staircase anytime soon since the depth on the landing stairs are almost 1-1/2 times as large as the steps on the staircase and only half as high.
• She is figuring out how to push harder to get those buttons on her toys to work. So she can make Cookie Monster pop out all on her own now.
• She is experiencing new foods these days. I’ve started doing chunky baby food for her two middle of the day meals. We’ve introduced cheese and that seems to be a big hit with her. Fruits are hit and miss but pears seem to be her favorite as long as it has some rice cereal mixed in to take the bite out of the tartness. Of course with the addition of more solid foods into her diet we are getting some new odors in the diapers.
• She has been learning how to hold her own bottle, albeit in her own unique way. It’s quite cute because she does both a one-handed and two-handed method of grasping the bottom of the bottle and pulling thus mashing it into her mouth. Still trying to help her hold it at the right angle but she’s doing pretty good. I also still have to help her when she gets to the end of the bottle, but I get about two minutes to continue cleaning up the aftermath of her meal – I’ll take it!
• She continues to talk up a storm, when she wants to. This is probably what I am enjoying the most right now. She is so darn cute when she’s talking it just brings a smile to my face. We’re still working on mama but she’s got dada down pretty well (Alan is so happy!)
• Still no teeth but every once in awhile she gnaws on her fingers or her washcloths, so we’re getting closer.
• Bath time is now a favorite of hers. Done are the days of having to ease her into the water, now I can just plop her right in and she starts playing.
