Park fun with Samantha

We took in a late afternoon at the park with Samantha and her parents. Since the park was overflowing with people, we headed over to the pond nearby to feed the ducks. Well the ducks would have nothing of the bread we tried to feed them but the turtle that was swimming alongside them gladly took their share. It was so funny to watch him try to get the bread, usually taking a couple of bites at it to finally sink his teeth into it and then he'd go under the water after he got it apparently to eat it. I wonder... does he pull his head into his shell to eat it?

After the pond we walked over and spent some time on the swings and then out to dinner. While at dinner the family seated next to us happened to be a fellow UCSD college buddy of Alan's who remembered the days of Alan doing the HPV (human powered vehicle) races. Boy that brought back memories since I think at the time Alan and I were still dating - yikes that would be close to 19 or 20 years ago! Anyhow after dinner we went back to Samantha's house and enjoyed some playtime for the girls. Teri finished up Megan's quilt and presented it to us - it is gorgeous. I need to get a photo of it in it's finished state - will post sometime soon. Thank you once again Teri for your many hours lovingly spent on this precious quilt!
