First week home

Well okay, so we haven’t posted as often as we had hoped. This parenting thing is hard work. Mommy and Daddy have adjusted to the new time zone reasonably well. Mandy has been fighting bronchitis that she picked up in China and it has only been getting worse. Thinking that she was still having too much fun she decided to get a case of pinkeye as well. Megan and Daddy are hoping that she has not already shared it with the family. This is not helping the transition process. Due to the contagious nature of these things it has pulled Mandy out of commission. Megan and Daddy are going to get plenty of quality time.

Megan is as cute as can be. There are new aspects to her personality that pop out each day. Notice that I did not say whether these were positive or negative aspects. We are still fighting bedtime regularly. I think we are in for a struggle long term in this area. That being said, most of the things that pop out of her are the fun things. She loves the stroller. She loves her new music activity center (thanks Auntie Teri and Uncle Allyn!). Most of all she still loves to crawl all over mommy and daddy.

Megan’s days are long. Because she sleeps 10-12 hours at night (once she gets there) she takes only a couple of really short naps in the day. She is quite the power napper. This could be handy later in life.

We tried a biscuit/cookie for the first time tonight and she loved it. We are not sure how much was consumed. The autopsy revealed the cause of death as a severe gumming trauma followed by drowning in saliva. We are still collecting all the little pieces. Do they make a bib with a vacuum attachment? If not, I claim rights to the invention. I think we are getting Cheerio ready.
